Advantages of E-MAIL:-

• Low cost:- Electronic mail is an extremely cost-effective way to move information around, especially when it must be moved quickly.
• Speed:- Electronic mail can be delivered almost as fast as the wire can carry it.
• Waste reduction:- E-mail goes a long way toward reducing the clutter of paper in the modern office, not to mention saving many trees.
• Ease of use:- It is easy to send an e-mail. You don't have to retype it three times, find an envelope, go to the corner to buy a stamp, and then find a mail box.
• Record maintenance:- Because all messages are files, you can automatically maintain a record of communications with someone else.
• Patience:- E-mail waits until you read it. It doesn't have the jangling urgency of a phone call.

Disadvantages of the E-mail:-

• To use facility of e-mail, user must have an access to internet and there are many parts of world where people does not have access to Internet.
• It is source of viruses:- It is capable to harm one’s computer and read out user’s e-mail address book and send themselves to number of people around the world.

• To be updated, user have to check inbox from time-to-time.
• It is informal method of communication.
• Sometimes, e-mails becomes misunderstood as it is not capable of expressing emotions.
• It can be source of various spams:- These spam mails can fill up inbox and to deletion of these mail consumes lot of time.
