(a) PPP:- PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) is the most commonly used data link protocol. It is a protocol used to establish a direct connection between two nodes. It can provide connection authentication, transmission encryption and compression.
(b) POP3:- The POP (Post Office Protocol 3) is a simple and standard method to access mailbox and download messages to the local computers.
(c) VolP: - VolP (Voice over Internet Protocol) are communication protocols and transmission technologies for delivery of voice communication and multimedia sessions over Internet Protocol (IP) networks, such as the internet. Also, we can say that VolP are IP technology, internet telephony and broadband telephony.
(d) IRC: - IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is used for chatting by sending and receiving text messages. The sender sends request to IRC server, which then forwards this request to another client to communicate with each other.
